Pennsylvania American Legion is at work in communities all across the state providing programs aimed to educate our youth, support our veterans and make a positive influence in our communities. Getting involved in these programs will promote The Pennsylvania American Legion and support our communities; whether your Post sponsors a local blood drive, holds a flag folding ceremony at your community school or volunteers at the VA hospital.


The American Legion is a veteran service organization that is bipartisan but has political agendas. We care about America, veterans and their families and our nation’s youth. We are a strong and powerful voice in Washington dedicated to preserving the rights we were promised by our service to our country.

In 1919, the United States Congress approved the charter of The American Legion as an organization of veterans. Legionnaires served our Nation during periods defined by Congress as war-time service.

The American Legion is a powerful voice in Washington dedicated to preserving the rights we’ve earned – and were promised – by service to our nation in uniform.
