Ride to honor a man who gave to the community
He was a New York City Police officer for 37 years, moved to Palmyra 18 years ago and he was a great friend to the American Legion.
Zipper passed away from leukemia.
All proceeds from the ride will go to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society to financially help families undergoing treatment and to advance research that helped patients like Zip.
“The benefit in time that we had with Zip really came from some of those advancements and even if Zip was diagnosed ten years earlier, it would have been a much different course,” Dr. Myles Nickolich, Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Penn State Cancer Institute, said.
The third annual ride, along with a raffle and lunch, is on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the American Legion Post 831 on Palmyra Road in Palmyra.
Check-in is at 9:30 a.m.
You can register at the event.
