Children of Fallen Patriots Day

The American Legion recognizes Children of Fallen Patriots Day on May 13th to honor the sacrifice of military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. The day also recognizes the strength and resilience of these young people. May 13th was chosen because it's also the anniversary of the establishment of Arlington National Cemetery in 1864, which is the final resting place for many war heroes
