The American Legion supports Constitution Week, which is celebrated from September 17–23 each year to commemorate the adoption of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. The Legion's support includes its Oratorical Contest, a speech contest for high school students that helps them learn about the Constitution, American citizenship, and communication and leadership skills.
