My name is Ben Condemi and I am the Midshipman Company Commander writing on behalf of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (Steel City NROTC: https://www.cmu.edu/nrotc/).
Every year, our unit holds a 5K memorial event in honor of Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Raible USMC (https://militaryhallofhonor.com/honoree-record.php?id=10321) who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving our nation while stationed in Afghanistan in 2012. Lt. Col. Raible is an Irwin, Pa., native and a close CMU and Steel City NROTC alumnus. He was a man of excellence, servitude and honor. We dedicate this event to his service and sacrifice each year.
This event not only serves as a fantastic opportunity for veterans and their families to meet other patriotic individuals, but it also supports The Christopher “Otis” Raible Educational Grant (https://www.wingmanfoundation.org/otis-grant) and Lt. Col. Raible's family itself (pictured)!
