American Legion Riders Post 455 Participate in Steven Meiler Memorial Ride

Members of the American Legion Riders (ALR) Chapter 455, Stewartstown, proudly participated in the Steven Meiler Memorial Ride on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The annual event, hosted by the Glen Rock American Legion Riders Chapter 403 at Austin L. Grove American Legion Post 403, brought together more than 200 motorcycles and riders from across the region in a powerful tribute to local veterans and fallen heroes.

Escorted by volunteers from the York County Motor Officers Association, participants traveled approximately 52 miles through southern York County, passing through the communities of Seven Valleys, Stewartstown, Shrewsbury, and Railroad before returning to Post 403.

Following the ride, participants gathered at the post to enjoy food, live music, and fellowship provided by the dedicated volunteers of the Glen Rock American Legion Riders Chapter 403. The event offered riders an opportunity not only to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow veterans and motorcycle enthusiasts but also to honor the service and sacrifice of two hometown heroes.

The memorial ride pays tribute to U.S. Army Sgt. Steven Meiler, a charter member of American Legion Riders Chapter 403 who proudly served his country and remained deeply committed to his local American Legion family, and U.S. Army Sgt. Joseph Zygarowski, who gave his life in training. Sgt. Meiler, a U.S. Army veteran, served as a leader within Post 403 and was instrumental in the early years of the Riders chapter, making the annual memorial ride a fitting way to honor his legacy of service and brotherhood.

In addition to remembering these fallen servicemen, proceeds from the event will benefit the York County Motor Officers Association Maintenance Fund, helping support the organization's motorcycles and equipment used to provide escorts for charitable rides, funeral processions, and community events throughout York County.

The American Legion Riders continue to uphold the organization's mission of honoring veterans, supporting military families, and serving their communities. Events such as the Steven Meiler Memorial Ride exemplify the Riders' commitment to remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice while strengthening the bonds of fellowship among veterans and supporters alike.

American Legion Riders Chapter 455 is honored to have participated in this meaningful event and extends its appreciation to Glen Rock American Legion Riders Chapter 403, the York County Motor Officers Association, the volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make the day a success.
