NATIONAL CEMETERY COMMITTEE

Communicated by phone and email with the Vice Chairman Frank Merritt (East), John Chalmers (Central) and Bart Stack (West). Made plans to visit with the directors and staff of all four PA National Cemeteries.

Philadelphia National Cemetery is currently filled; however, space may be available at times if remains are disinterred and space becomes available at times. The other three cemeteries offer burial for both casket and cremated remains.

Burial in a National Cemetery is open to all members of the Armed Forces who have met the active duty requirements and were honorable discharged other than dishonorable.

For further information, go to www.cem.gov to answer your questions. The committee plans to visit with each staff of all our PA National Cemetery during 2024-2025 year to discover their needs and address their concerns. Therefore, will have more details in our next report. Thank you to all the volunteers who gave our deceased Veterans an honorable burial and thank you Commander Fritz for the appointment to this committee.
