Veterans Day Dinner Wesleyville American Legion Post
The Wesleyville American Legion Post 571 had its Annual Veterans Day Dinner the Friday before November 11th.
the dinner buffet is one way the Legion Post 571 celebrates those who have served our country. The food was free for veterans. There was a cost for family members and friends who came with them.
The dinner buffet started at 4pm and went until 7pm, and it's estimated that hundreds of veterans throughout the night came to take part. Chaplin for Post 571, Karen Foust, said, "This event also builds community and lets people learn a little more about their post."
"We do for the fellowship. We do it for people to see what our post is like, and maybe they want to join our post. We do it family style. So, sometimes you don't sit with the veteran you already know and maybe you can strike up a conversation and find new friends," Foust said.
