SAL National Commander extends holiday wishes and encourages Sons to complete his three challenges.
Happy Holidays!
I hope that the entire American Legion Family is having a happy holiday season. It is a wonderful time of year to embrace and support family and friends — especially those who find the holiday season a challenging one.
That’s why I continue to urge all of you, and especially the Sons of The American Legion, to keep finding ways to Be The One.
In October, I challenged the Sons in three ways:
· Reach our membership goal of 400,000 members.
· Raise $500,000 for the Veterans & Children Foundation (VCF).
· And take the pledge and become trained in the Be The One mission to prevent veteran suicide.
Well over half of our detachments are ahead of the pace on membership goals; we continue to post strong numbers in donations; and more virtual Be The One training sessions are to come.
I know that we can not only meet, but exceed those goals. I want every Son to continue to show why the Sons of The American Legion are such a vital part of the Legion Family.
A time to celebrate and give thanks.
This holiday season, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all veterans and their families for your service, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. As we celebrate, let us also remember the importance of never forgetting the values that unite us as members of The Sons of The American Legion. Our organization stands as a proud reminder of the legacy of those who have served, and it is our duty to honor their sacrifices by carrying forward the spirit of service, patriotism, and community. Wishing you peace, joy, and a meaningful holiday season.
