KEYSTONE BOYS STATE COMMITTEE
Patrick Love
Greetings from the Staff and Volunteers, Counselors, and Mentors of Keystone Boys State. As of this writing Boys state has 136 registered citizens attending the 2024 Keystone Boy’s State Program at Messiah University from June 16th through June 22nd, we have all 136 candidates sponsored as well, so thank you to those that pushed sponsorship and those that went the extra mile and gave us the funds we needed.
I have still receive calls about Boys state such as how much, when is it due, where is it held and other questions and while I don’t mind answering these questions these are things that should be discussed at your District meetings. Another statement I have gotten is we want to sponsor a candidate but we can’t say yes till we have a meeting, I have suggested on more than one occasion that you PUT Keystone Boys State and State Police Youth Week in your POST BUDGET. I have done so at my Post, our District put it in their budget as well as the County budget, so please consider this as an option so we don’t have to go begging for sponsors.
The Keystone Boys State Foundation is a non-profit 501c3; making it eligible for donations from anywhere, while not part of the Keystone Boys State Program the object of the foundation is to raise funds to assist the Department when possible with the cost of Keystone Boys State, so if you know of anyone with deep pockets or a Corporation that is willing to support this great program please ask them to make a nice tax deductible donation.
I will have more information on the results of KBS at the convention when I give our Report there.
As I close I would like to thank Commander Lavelle for the opportunity to represent KBS, I want to thank Sharon Delancey for the hours of time she puts in daily with the registration of the citizens and Lewis Jones for helping all the volunteers getting their clearances to assist us at Messiah and all those associated with KBS. Jacques Weeden (JW) camp director, Joe Reimel camp consultant, Tim French consultant, all the vice chairmen Carl Curtis, Chad Physer, Eric Mueller, Jacques Weedon Jr, Ed Gallager, Frank Brown, Mike Devlin, Carl Olshefskie and Joe Glazier.
Thank you Gentleman for all your assistance and hard work in making KBS successful
