The Marketing, Media, Fundraising and Communications Committee met by zoom at 11:30 am on June 8, 2024. Members attending were Chairman Halverson, Vice Chairmen Robert Turlip (C), Frank Hall (W) and Shannon Kyle (HQ). Ed Hatton (E) was excused.

The award applications were discussed and the winners were:
Blue Cap Of The Year: Eric R Luke Post 105 District 29
P.R. Volunteer: William Denny Post 385
Media Awards Ration: Station WMAK of Bala-Cynwyd PA
Media Award Internet/Social Media: Facebook Post 571 of Erie PA
Post Public Relations- No Submissions

The Committee was at a loss because the applications were not filled out and turned in. The members talked about how to get the District Commanders and others to have the Posts communicate to the media. How is the American Legion supposed to thrive and grow stronger if we don’t even know if the Posts are getting the word out? There were no newspaper or TV submissions and no Post public relations. With nothing further to discuss at this time the meeting
adjourned at 12:00 noon.
