POST-GULF WAR VETERANS COMMITTEE
James Fulton, Sr
We met via Zoom on Saturday, Aug 12th @10am; We had 6 members included on the call. The topic we discussed was the Pact Act Extension till Aug 14 2359hours, what this means is that if the Veteran files an intent to file by this date, it will be backed dated till Aug 10, 2022, for any Pact Act claim issues.
Discussed the toxic exposure issues veterans maybe experiencing like Head Aches Dizziness Fibromyalgia Memory Issues Sleep Disorders. These could be secondary issues to the Pact Act.
We also discussed doing a membership drive within communities to get the word out to younger Veterans.
Also, make sure we are working with our Districts and Posts on doing Buddy Checks with all our Veterans; we believe this will help with membership.
Working with State Representatives to get the word out about the Suicide Prevention Hotline 988.
Working with Local Posts to set up events for younger veterans and their families so they understand what services we have to offer. Getting the Vet centers involved to bring out the mobile truck.
Work with Posts on having social events so Gulf War Veterans can get together and socialize with other veterans regardless if they are Members or not.
We will be meeting once a quarter to discuss things important with this Committee.
