REPORT OF ALTERNATE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEEMAN

REPORT OF ALTERNATE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEEMAN
Michael D Murphy
I would like to thank the members of the Department for the opportunity to serve as your Alternate National Executive Committeeman. It is truly an educational experience. Working with the other members of the N.E.C. on many issues that come before us that are vital to the success of the Legion. The dues increase that takes effect in 2025 will help maintain the National headquarters and the legion as a whole.

The membership will continue to be a concern to the leadership of every department. The district Commanders do a great job trying to keep our membership strong. The outgoing District Commanders need to help train the new ones on how to do their job, about attending meetings and how to keep our legion strong.

The Officers Guide and manual of Ceremonies and the Constitution of the American Legion is one of the best guides that you can possess. Read over then and become familiar with what to do and say. If you follow them, you will not go wrong. Knowledge is the key to leadership.

I had opportunity to make the National Executive Meetings, the Western Section meetings, the western section hospital tour, along with many meetings throughout the state. If there is anything that I can do for you, please feel free to call me. I will try to help out in any way that I can.

Amy and I would like to thank you for all the hospitality you have shown us whenever we visited your post and districts. We truly are a family.
