Department Convention

The purpose of the Department Convention covers many aspects of The American Legion within a long weekend.  Delegations gather once a year, from across the state for the purpose to elect Department Officers and vote on resolutions.  During the 4 day event, we also listen to the state oratorical champion deliver the award winning speech, the essay champion read their award winning essay, and invited guests inform us on important issues concerning veterans today.  Reports are given by the department committees and program awards are presented to legionnaires, posts and invited award winners. The Department Convention is an exciting time to get new ideas, support current momentums and experience the camaraderie of fellow Legionnaires.
