Chaplain Lois Neiderhiser led everyone in a prayer of thanksgiving for our veterans and their families.
A roll call of officers conducted by Mary Pescatore preceded the reading of the minutes from June meeting that was approved as read.
In the absence of Treasurer Carol Greenawalt, the treasury report was given by Penrose, and it was approved as read to be filed for audit. The president also read the budget for 2024-25. A motion made by Joan Tua and seconded by Lucille Knapczyk to accept the budget was approved.
Committee updates followed:
Americanism — Pescatore passed out packages containing a star removed from the American flag with this note: “I am part of our American flag that has flown over the USA. I can no longer fly. The sun and winds caused me to become tattered and torn. Please carry me as a reminder that you are not forgotten.”
Auxiliary Emergency Fund collected $14, according to Irene Hoyle.
Cards and Visiting — Donna Rodgers sent a get-well card to Greenawalt for “a speedy recovery from surgery.” A sympathy card was sent to Bonnie Harris “due to the loss of her son.”
