Huntingdon woman receives national American Legion Auxiliary award
The American Legion Auxiliary National Convention was held Aug. 23-29, in New Orleans.
Jody F Honstine, who served as the Department of Pennsylvania’s Legislative Chairman for the 2023-24 membership year, received the National Award for the Most Outstanding Legislative Program in the Eastern Division.
The award recognizes exceptional advocacy work, leadership, program effectiveness, collaboration, and innovation. The legislative committee educates and trains auxiliary members to communicate with their legislators on behalf of veterans and their families.
Honstine resides in Huntingdon and is a member of the Mapleton American Legion Auxiliary Unit 322 where she holds the office of vice president. She is currently the District President of Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, and Perry counties until the end of the 2026 administrative year.
